Material Introduction

Polyamide-imide (PAI) is a high-performance engineering plastic containing both amide and imide groups in its molecular chain. This special structure allows PAI to combine the advantages of polyamide (PA) and polyimide (PI), such as excellent heat resistance, mechanical properties, creep resistance, radiation resistance, and chemical stability.

PAI was first developed by the U.S. company Amoco in 1964 and initially used in insulating varnishes. With technological advancements, its applications have gradually expanded, making it an important material in fields such as aerospace, chemical equipment, and the electronics industry.

The load deflection temperature of PAI is typically around 180°C, and some high-grade PAI materials can remain stable at even higher temperatures. In addition, PAI also features good flame retardancy, wear resistance, and self-lubricating properties, enabling it to perform exceptionally well under various extreme conditions.

Application Industry

PAI sealing rings are an important application of polyamide-imide materials in the sealing field. Thanks to their excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and wear resistance, PAI sealing rings play a key role in multiple industries.

Aerospace Industry

Aerospace equipment imposes extremely high performance requirements on materials, especially in high-temperature, high-pressure, and high-radiation environments. With their outstanding heat resistance and radiation resistance, PAI sealing rings have become indispensable sealing elements in aerospace equipment.

Chemical Equipment

In the chemical industry, equipment is often exposed to various corrosive substances. Leveraging its excellent chemical resistance, PAI sealing rings maintain stable sealing performance in corrosive environments.

Electronics Industry

Electronic equipment has strict requirements for the dimensional stability and insulation performance of sealing components. PAI sealing rings not only offer excellent dimensional stability but also good electrical insulation, making them widely used in sealing applications for electronic devices.

Automotive Industry

In the automotive sector, PAI sealing rings are commonly used in sealing points of engines and transmission systems. These components must often withstand high temperatures and pressures, and PAI sealing rings ensure reliable sealing thanks to their excellent heat resistance and wear resistance.

Other Mechanical Industries

In addition to the above sectors, PAI sealing rings are also widely used in various mechanical equipment such as compressors, pumps, and textile machinery. These devices also demand high-performance sealing components, and PAI sealing rings meet these requirements with their outstanding comprehensive properties.

In conclusion, as a high-performance engineering plastic, polyamide-imide (PAI) plays an important role in multiple industries. Especially in the sealing field, PAI sealing rings have become indispensable sealing elements in several key industries due to their excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and wear resistance. As technology continues to advance, the application scope of PAI materials will continue to expand, providing higher-quality material solutions for more industries.
