RS13
| Max pressure | 350 Bar |
| Temp range | -45°C~200°C |
The RS13 is a high-performance, double-acting or single-acting tandem coaxial rod/piston seal designed for demanding hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. It features an advanced composite structure: a primary polymer slide ring (represented in green) integrated with twin rectangular back-up rings (represented in black) located at the basal corners. This asymmetric profile is specifically engineered to handle high-pressure fluctuations, reduce operational friction, and provide zero-leakage performance under harsh working conditions.
Primary Slide Ring (Green Body): Typically machined or molded from high-grade Turcon / PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) compounds or premium Polyurethane (PU/Polyurethane elastomer). This material offers an exceptionally low coefficient of friction, high thermal stability, and excellent wear resistance, ensuring smooth sliding even during dry-running or starved lubrication phases.
Back-up / Anti-Extrusion Rings (Black Elements): Fabricated from high-modulus, rigid technical plastics such as POM (Polyoxymethylene / Acetal), PA (Nylon), or hard elastomer composites. These elements possess superior compressive strength and hardness to effectively resist high-shear forces at the seal gap.
Anti-Extrusion Design: The prominent twin-block design at the heel acts as a robust anti-extrusion barrier. Under intense system pressure, these rigid blocks prevent the softer green sealing body from migrating or extruding into the clearance gap, significantly extending the seal’s service life.
Optimized Contact Pressure: The top dynamic sealing lips feature a subtly contoured, asymmetric geometry. This unique crown profile optimizes hydrostatic pressure distribution, ensuring a reliable primary sealing effect while minimizing breakout and running friction.
Dual-Directional Back-up Stability: Positioned at both bottom flanks, the rectangular blocks provide impeccable axial stability within the groove, preventing seal twisting, tilting, or rolling during high-frequency stroke cycles.
Stick-Slip Elimination: The specialized material pairing allows for excellent stick-slip-free operation, ensuring precise positioning and smooth movement even at low sweeping velocities.
The RS13 profile is widely used across heavy-duty industrial and mobile hydraulic systems where high pressure, durability, and low friction are critical:
Mobile Hydraulics: Earthmoving machinery, excavators, cranes, agricultural equipment, and forestry vehicles.
Heavy Machinery: Injection molding machines, hydraulic presses, forging equipment, and iron/steel rolling mills.
Control & Automation: Control valves, servo-hydraulic systems, and positioning cylinders requiring minimal hysteresis.
General Industry: Standard ISO/VDMA cylinders working under high pressure or high-velocity environments.
