Characteristics And Performance

The R26 is a single-acting, o-ring energized, low-friction rod seal proven to be ideal in a variety of applications. The seal is made with our high-quality products combined with an elastomer energizer for superior performance. High performance materials, like HLX, provide outstanding wear and extrusion-resistance properties as well as large range of temperature and media compatibility.

Unlike other designs, the R26 can be used in tandem installations to provide optimum sealing in high-speed applications. The R26 is also commonly used as a pressure buffer seal protecting the primary rod seal from high-frequency pressure spikes that might be found in a system. This design also fits standard ISO 7425-2 grooves and is offered in a wide range of metric and inch options.

Applications

High‑speed hydraulic cylinders: Ideal for reciprocating speeds up to 15m/s with low friction and no stick‑slip, used in injection molding machines, high‑speed presses, and servo hydraulic systems.

High‑pressure & pressure‑shock service: Commonly used as a pressure buffer seal to protect primary seals from high‑frequency pressure spikes; rated up to 600bar (800bar in buffer duty), suitable for construction machinery, mining equipment, and hydraulic supports.

Tandem sealing arrangements: Can be installed in tandem for optimum sealing in precision hydraulic and servo systems with strict leakage control.

Wide temperature & multi‑fluid environments: Operates from -45°C to 200°C, compatible with mineral oils, water glycols, synthetic esters, etc., for metallurgy, marine, offshore, and wind turbine equipment.

Long‑life, low‑maintenance machinery: Delivers superior wear and extrusion resistance for continuous‑duty automation lines, die‑casting machines, and bridge dampers.

Standard groove applications: Fits ISO 7425‑2 grooves, available in metric and inch sizes for general and custom hydraulic cylinders.
